Francesco Mazzacuva


Born in 1985, in 2008 he graduated in Law at the University of Bologna and in 2012 he obtained a Ph.D. in Criminal Law at the University of Parma, where he was also Post-Doc researcher in Criminal Law from 2014 to 2016.

During this time, he has been Visiting Scholar at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (2009) and at the Queen Mary University of London (2014) and also several times Visiting Researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut for foreign and international criminal law (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017). In 2010, he has been also a Trainee at the European Court of Human Rights.

In 2016, he became a judge and served in the Court of Modena. In 2018, he qualified to become Associate Professor of Criminal law. Since 2019, he is Researcher in Criminal Law in the University of Parma.

He has been the representative of the Young Penalists of the AIDP - Italian Group since 2015.
