Luyuan Bai

Luyuan Bai was born in 1992 in China. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Law at Minzu Universtiy of China in 2014 and Master’s Degree in Criminal Law at Beijing Normal University in 2017.

She is currently doing her PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg, Germany. Her research topic is legal measures of counterterrorism from a comparative perspective, with a special emphasis on the phenomenon of Foreign Terrorist Fighters. She is also interested the boundary of criminal law in the ever-changing society, the boundary between criminal law and administrative law and the additional consequences of the criminal punishment and criminal record.
